The last warning that this is a spoiler post!!
The inspirations for each polish

Two coats of NailNation 3000 Spiritual Holo

Two coats of Philly Loves Lacquer Sunset Down the Shore. It has holo and flakies.

Two coats of Liquid Sky Lacquer Sun Kissed in Tropez

Two coats of Lilypad Lacquer Island Escape- it has reddish pink shimmer and flakies!

Fairy Blood- A Tribute to the end of True Blood

Everyone's favorite fairy- whether to love or to hate has returned! True Blood Season 7 has arrived and sadly it will be the last. We will see who Sookie ends up with and what effect her decisions have on Bon Temps.

In honor of this past Sunday's premier, Jac released a limited edition polish as irresistible as its inspiration- Fairy Blood! Fairy Blood is a delicate pink holo with pink flakies and a slight pearlescent shimmer. I think it is a perfect representation of the delicate and innocent nature of Sookie at the start of the show.

Treat Yourself with Sirref! Part 1

If you follow my FB page, you've seen me post about Sirref Bath Treats before. I stumbled across this shop in a FB group. It was started by Chynel who loved using LUSH products for herself and her son, but hated paying high prices. She was interested in a quality product using ingredients that are safe for even the most sensitive skin. Here is her shop description:
Homemade bath treats. They are packed with moisturizing nutrients that will leave your skin so amazingly soft and hydrated. I started this up because I love going and buying bath bombs but cannot stand paying 8-10 dollars for one because that's only one bath! So I wanted to give people the opportunity to pay less and to actually get more. These bombs are the best bath bombs for you skin! After you try one of my bath bombs, you won't get them anywhere else!
Intrigued, I bought a few and was addicted. I have also worked with Chynel to create my own custom bath bomb that I'll review below! There are 5 products up for review, three today, two tomorrow- each of which was purchased with my own money and gives my honest review. I was given nothing in exchange for the review. *photos are Chynel's since I used my products before photographing :-P*

Sex on the Beach Bath Bomb

Described as:

The sweet smell of Sex on the Beach. The bomb is packed in with a TON of coconut oil, and olive oil to make it last longer. Your skin with be so soft after just one time!

My take:

This bomb definitely a joy to use! It turned the color a gorgeous shade of pinky purple and added tons of hydration to my skin. It smelled of fruity notes of cranberry and oranges for me. The scent was a bit faint for my liking, but my nose doesn't pick up delicate notes very well. After even an insanely hot bath, my skin was super moisturized after getting out of the bath and I was able to skip the lotion altogether before going to bed!

Peppermint Bliss Bath Bomb

Described as:

Inspired by Alyssa Kisby! She wanted a bomb that could bring her back to the Christmas seasons in her tub anytime of year! This has the absolute perfect aroma of peppermint and vanilla.
The neat thing about peppermint oil is that it helps with all types of discomfort. It helps with tummy aches, cramps, nausea, headaches and sore muscles. So if you are ever feeling a little under the weather, just take a nice bath to bring you back up!

My take:

Well obviously I'm going to love this as I helped to create it :-P I have an addiction to all things peppermint. Chynel was amazing and designed this bomb filled with peppermint and a hint of warm vanilla to round it out. It's minty without assaulting the nose or being a Vicks scented bath! True to the others, it leaves the skin super soft. It also turns the bath a pale shade of pink and leaves a slow dissolving rose floating around!

Sleepy Bye Bubble Bar Set

Described as:

This Bubble Bar Set is the perfect night time remedy. The aroma of Lavender is going to drift you into a sweet coma. Packed in with Vitamin E to give you that intense healing for your night time remedy. Olive oil to help the vitamin E in longer. Helps with brown spots because of the anti-aging it promotes and it is also an effective treatment for dry and cracked cuticles. It hydrates and smooths and prevents future cracks. The perfect way to get your beauty sleep, moisturized.

This set contains 3 mini bubble bars, that way you don't have to break able a full size and make a mess!

My take:
If you or your child has trouble sleeping, take a nice warm bath with this and you will be knocked out in no time! The scent is a perfect balance of lavender to relax you and help you drift off. I was already tired so I found myself drifting off in the bath! It was my first time using a bubble bar so I wasn't sure what to expect. These are divided into three small bars each designed for one or two baths depending on your water pressure and tub size. I started with about 2/3 of one of the bars, but I found that my water pressure isn't the worlds best and I probably want to use a full bar for each bath. I also have a garden sized tub. I got a fair amount of bubbles, but then again I think I will get more with a larger portion and better pressure. The bar wasn't quite as moisturizing for me as the bombs, but the relaxation aspect was definitely awesome. She makes this scent in a bomb too which might be my go to over the bars.

A Double Shot of Flowers

I'm in the process of swatching Pretty Bitch's July collection and running a Nail Art Contest in the Pretty Bitch fan group in between my Bar studies. This quick macro is a snippet of my polish work that I wanted to share.

The theme for tomorrow's nail art is floral so I wanted to give the girls a quickie demo of an easy nail art design that anyone of any level can complete. I painted over the swatch of Jaclyn's July limited edition I had on (currently unnamed) and grabbed a dotting tool.

First, I put dots of Pheromone on my nail for the centers. Then I switched to a larger end and dotted 5 dots of Double Shot around each center. To add some sparkle I dabbed Fucking Yeah, Baby! into the centers. The combination is a really warm and comfy floral mani.

I do have some tips from what I learned:
  • Use a slightly smaller dot head than you think you will need  for the petals or your dots will blob like mine instead of looking like individual petals
  • Paint one petal on each flower first, then add a second to all, etc- This way each petal has some time to dry and and the petals don't run into each other

Let's Have Some Jungle Juice!

Neons have really caught my eye lately and all big polish makes are putting their spins on neon collections. Jaclyn over at Pretty Bitch Polish has put a great spin on this with a huge collection!

The Pretty Bitch Polish Neon Party Collection consists of 10 cremes, 4 glitters, and 5 holos! Whew! The holos are named for her scene in The Other Woman which was a blacklight neon party while the cremes are named after those fantastic summer drinks we all enjoy :)  I was able to take a peek at two of the cremes last month and they are to die for. I'm dying to get my hands on the rest of this collection.

This gorgeous neon purple is called Jungle Juice! True to Jaclyn's formula, it has no problems with consistency or application. Unlike a lot of neons, it does not streak at all and required no undies to pop. To show you its opacity, I tested it over white as well. All nails except the ring finger are two coats alone. The ring finger is two coats over white. I went with two coats over white just because one coat over white was a tad patchy since I couldn't completely control how much my shaky hand was depositing everywhere.

I used a matte top coat to add some dots on top for part of a nail art challenge Jaclyn and I are having with some of her fans :) What do you think?

The Neon Party Collection will be launching July 7th at 9PM EST at www.prettybitchpolish.com

Smitten Polish Jamaican Sunset

While studying for the Bar I might post some manis through phone photos over my usual camera images. They are slightly less polished, but I want to keep sharing with you all!

This beauty if a group custom by Smitten Polish called Jamaican Sunset. It is an insanely neon pink holographic jelly-ish polish with a coral shimmer. I call it a jelly-ish polish because she used pure pigment and holo only to help preserve the neon color so it is a bit see through. This helps though because once you build it up, the holo layers give so much dimension! I would hoard this polish if I could! Next time I might use an undie just to save myself from using so much polish to make it last.

This is three coats with top coat. It is a thinner formula since it is just pure pigment and holo pigment. It has great control though and dries super quick. Unlike most neons, it's not a super matte finish, but just a slightly less shiny finish than usual. It has an eye-blinding neon color in all lights, but in low light it shows a gorgeous coral color shift to it!

Three coats outdoors in direct sun. There is so much holo here, but the pink just takes over and drowns it on camera :-P

Full sun :)
