Spring Pastel Holos from Pretty Bitch Polish Pt. 1

I have the first half of the new Pretty Bitch Polish spring pastel holo collection for you. This collection just screams bring on the sun and flow-y sun dresses! As usual, it will launch at 9 PM EDT on the firs Monday in April- the 7th. For a full list of what will be releasing, check out her press release at the bottom.

Some Like it Hot is a deliciously soft pink with a slight metallic finish. The holo on this one is insane. In the bottle, the formula seemed like it might be thin, but it built quickly and easily to opacity with just two coats on me. If you have a strong nail line distinction you might need three coats, but it is so worth it. Even in low light you can see the holo rainbow come to life. I had good control with this one and it was self-leveling.

Next up is Haters Gonna Hate. Haters Gonna Hate is a creamy light pastel green. The shade reminds me of what I would call a light lime color. It is perfect for Spring. This one is thicker than Some Like It Hot, but not to the point of ruining its manageability. It went opaque in almost one coat but as a blogger, I always put on two coats since the camera always sees things our eyes can't. The holo is slightly less than Some Like It Hot, but it has a great strong linear holo compared to most other creme based holos I've used.

Just Peachy is one of my favorites! It takes a lot to describe this one. This is a slightly pink leaning peach polish with a touch of a metallic finish and gold shimmer! So complex! The formula was great. Just thin enough to self level and provide good control. It has a strong linear holo just like Some Like It Hot too.

Peita's Smitten w/ her Peppermint Shamrock Shake

I just had way too much fun coming up with that title :-P I'm finally getting around to uploading the mani I wore two weeks ago during my Spring Break. It is also the lucky mani that I was wearing with Gary popped the question! Maybe it was that whole luck of the Irish thing?

The base color for this mani is Smitten Polish Shamrock Shake. She released this color as part of a two-color St. Patrick's Day collection and I couldn't resist since that's my birthday. It is a creamy minty green that has a great amount of holo for a cream. It went on in to coats and was a bit thicker, but was manageable.

The accent nail is one I ordered just to wear for my birthday. It is Peppermint Lane by Peita's Polish. Peppermint Lane is comprised of various green and white matte microglitters suspended in a clear base. The payoff was amazing as usual for Peita's glitters and it went on without gooping and self-leveled with minimal grit once dry.

I topped it all off with a coat of Peita's Quick! Gloss Me Up topcoat which is definitely one of the glossiest top coats I've used. It is quickly becoming my go to topcoat.

Lilypad Lacquer Catch A Falling Star

After suddenly being bit by a pink shimmer bug, I decided to have a custom made :) I approached Nicole of Lilypad Lacquer with an idea for a bright cornflower blue holo with pink shimmer. She nailed it!

This is the same polish that a lucky winner in my Birthday Giveaway won!

Catch a Falling Star is nearly a one coater, but my paranoid self still gave it two coats. In person it is not quite as saturated as these photos show, but no matter how I tried to fix it in Lightroom, it got wayyyyy off so just picture it slightly less saturated! I topped it off with a quick coat of Peita's Polish Quick! Gloss Me Up and these photos are taken in full sun.

There is even more of the pink here!

What is your ideal custom color if you could make anything you wanted?

NSFW Chrome Collection Part 2

Pretty Bitch Polish is coming out with an awesome chrome collection and here is the second part of the collection I showed you earlier. These are going to be released Saturday 3/22 at Noon EDT.

I have the last 4 of the 9 chromes to share. The Not Safe For Work chrome collection consists of:
  • 1.) STFU- (green to red)
  • 2.) WTF- (blue to orange)
  • 3.) SOL- (violet to orange)
  • 4.) FML- (orange to cyan)
  • 5.) NSFW- (red to orange)
  • 6.) Ph.D- (emerald to purple)
  • 7.) DTF- (gold to red)
  • 8.) MILF- (red to purple)
  • 9.) GTS - (green to gold)

Once again, I'm showing all of the shade swatches instead of the full sun since chromes have the most personality outside of the sun when photographed. You can see sun shots of these on the Pretty Bitch Polish Facebook page where I show 4 shots of each polish.

Ph.D in the shade. Layering: 2 coats alone, 1 coat over Mother Fucker, 1 coat over Tits, and 1 coat over Fuck It. This has an emerald to purple shift across it's spectrums. PhD is almost opaque in 1 coat as you can see with the layering attempts The purple side is a little shy but it definitely comes you in person.

SOL in the shade. This is two coats alone. This has a violet to orange shift but the violet was so hard to capture on camera!

STFU in the shade. 1 coat over Shit, 2 coats alone, 1 coat over Fuck It, and 1 coat over Piss. This one has a green to red shift.
WTF in the shade. Layering: 3 coats alone, 1 coat over Mother Fucker, 1 coat over Tits, and 1 coat over Fuck It. This has a blue to orange shift across it's spectrums and is really responsive to layering!

Giveaway Prize #2: Pretty Bitch Polish

Here is one of the other prize packages you can win from my Birthday Giveaway. I bought these two bottles as duplicates of two that I have in my collection and really love. Not to mention that they are green to go with my St. Patrick's Day birthday :)

Pretty Bitch Polish Kiss Me... Down There is a lime green super linear holo. It also has a slight metallic finish which makes it even more electric and makes the holo pop even more. This is pretty much a one-coater, but my OCD made me put two coats for my swatches.

The accent nail glitter is one you've seen in the past- Pretty Bitch Polish Lube from her holo glitter collection.

Lube is still in stock on her Big Cartel website, but Kiss Me... Down There is sold out and was an LE. My Birthday Giveaway is the last place you can snag a bottle other than a resell!

Two coats of Kiss Me... Down There with an accent nail of two coats of Lube alone.

Bearsly and Bumski on My Birthday!

Wohoo! It's my birthday today :) I'm so excited about the things that have been happening in life lately. I don't usually share too much about me, but I'll indulge today!

Don't forget about my Birthday Giveaway before I start rambling

Not only is it my quarter century birthday today, but it is also that of my awesome middle sister too. Being the oh so "sweet" younger sister, I figured the best birthday present I could give her as a 2 year old was to make my arrival right in the middle of her cake cutting. I always joke that they should have known not to cut the cake without me :-P. I'm lucky that she lives just a few minutes away from me so we always get to celebrate together even though we are a few hours away from the rest of our family.

Second..... I got engaged last week!!! :) I'll post up a picture of us right after the proposal at the bottom of this post. I was caught completely by surprise. He plotted with my parents for the week before and they ran super interference keeping me clueless. Now for the story everyone wants- He took me to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens and we walked around the orchid house and the gardens down to the lake. Once down at the lake front, he said he had something to give me and pulled out his dog-tags. Attached to the smallest chain was the ring and before I knew it, he was down on one knee!

Now on to today's post. Bearsley and Bumski is one of the awesome contributors to my Birthday Giveaway so I wanted to highlight that prize and show you a kickass piece from them. The one I'm showing below is my journal, but the one in my giveaway is a duplicate of it. I'm going to to be using my journal for wedding planning!

B+B carries a lot of journals, which I am addicted to, but they also carry art prints and pieces handcrafted by Dee. I love the snarky phrases on them and their handcrafted quality. They fit my personality and sailor-esque mouth perfectly :-P

These large journals are 8.5"x5.5" and have 20 double-sided pages of acid free, high grade sketch paper. The covers are pressed to give you great wear and a base to bear down on. Dee is also fab and can create some killer custom adaptations if you so desire.

Additionally, Dee's husband has his own shop selling man friendly candles and wax melts. I'll have a review of those up soon too! *Along with one of them in my upcoming engagement giveaway* You can check out his shop Fire Hill Candle, Co in advance of the review and giveaway.

Large Journal from Bearsly and Bumski

The journal is filled with 20 unlined double sided pieces of sturdy high-grade white paper just waiting to be filled with thoughts or sketches!

As promised, here is me and my fiancé in the car heading home after he popped the question! We were sending a quick photo out to our friends and family.

Smitten Polish Claddagh- I Am in Love!!

Seeing as it is my birthday month I've been wearing a lot of green lately. In the process I have found some of my Holy Grail green polishes! Pretty Bitch Polish Kiss Me... Down There definitely was a perfect lime green holo.

Similarly, Smitten Polish Claddagh is a must have deep squishy green with a slight blue lean. I could not get over how wonderfully holo this jelly is. It convinced me to go back and purchase all the other Smitten jelly holos that I don't already own! My mom and sister were commenting on how much they loved it and that was after just seeing it in low light. Very rarely did I find light that did not leave a holo rainbow peeking out.

This was a dream to apply and was perfectly opaque in two coats even though it is a jelly polish. I topped it off with a coat of my usual Poshe even though it was pretty shiny on its own. I wore this for 5 days before I convinced myself to take it off. I might even have to buy a backup bottle- that is how in love I am.

Just look at that bend! The holographic rainbow in this is mind-blowing.

Lilypad Lacquer I Just Think It's Pink

Lately I've been on a hot pink kick. No polish can be too pink for me, which is unusual because I've never been a big pink girl. For some reason I just can't get enough of it on my nails.

This beauty today does not disappoint. Lilypad Lacquer nailed it on the head with her I Just Think It's Pink. This polish is loaded with neon pink goodness :) In addition to being in your face pink, it has flakies AND holo which makes it a double whammy in my book. You can really see the flakies in the bottle and in the highlights of the nails below. For even more pizazz, Nicole added in a blue shimmer that you can see peeking out.

The formula was good considering it has so much packed into one base. It does dry with a bit of a texture so you will need a good topcoat to smooth it out. Below I have two coats of I Just Think It's Pink topped with Poshe topcoat.

Pretty Bitch Polish Wet Spot With Stamping!

Somehow I forgot to post this mani back when I did it! I love to do stamping but unfortunately don't get to do it very often. I'm still a newbie of sorts at it so it takes me a few goes to get things exactly how I want it. The tree on my ring finger took me about three or four tries to get a good transfer because I kept smudging it :(

The base color is Pretty Bitch Polish Wet spot which is a fabulously deep royal blue super holo that is practically opaque in just one coat. The ring finger is the original formulation of Pretty Bitch Polish Nipple Clamps which is also a one coater. Since I did this mani, it was reformulated with Spectraflair. It is still the same magenta color, but it has a more prominent linear holo to it.

I sealed both of those colors off with a quick coat of Poshe topcoat. I used topcoat before stamping since I knew I would need to wipe the stamping off a few times. This helped me preserve my base color by using acetone-free remover. On top, I stamped using Messy Mansion plates and Pretty Bitch Polish Crack Whore which is an insanely awesome pigmented white that stamps without patchiness or bald spots. The only weird thing I noticed is that CW works best when using a firm stamper rather than a squishy stamper. The pickup was much better when I switched. Sometimes certain polishes just work better with a particular type of stamper for no known reason.

Mentality Requested

Second to purple, teals are my weakness! Add pink glass fleck and shimmer to a teal holographic and you have a keeper. Mentality Polish did just that.

Mentality Polish Requested is a teal holographic polish to which she added pink glass fleck to give it an extra dimension. I used two coats here to reach opacity and topped it off with Poshe top coat. As always, Mentality's formula was great. They have the perfect balance to keep it from being too thin and runny, but also from being too thick. This meant that I had good control and had to do minimal clean up when I was done.

You can see the pink shimmer coming out in the sun here :)

Pretty Bitch Polish Holo Glitters

Below I have two glitters that are part of a new Pretty Bitch Polish collection. The Sex Toy collection consists of glitter mixes of both metallic and holographic glitters suspended in clear bases. They can be worn as a topper with one coat or alone as a full coverage glitter in two to three coats.

There are 6 glitter toppers in the Sex Toy Collection:
  • Dildo - Pink
  • Sex Swing- Blue
  • Tie-Downs- Gold
  • Bullet- Silver
  • Lube- Green
  • Blind Fold- Purple
The first of the two I have to show you is Lube. Lube is a blend of green glitters with a sprinkling of gold glitters as well. The holo on this is just unreal. I had to make my camera focus super sharp which ate some of the holo, but it was the only way I could get my nails to be nails and not blinding flashes of light. Over all but the ring finger, I layered one coat of Lube over a green Pretty Bitch holo called Kiss Me... Down There. The ring finger is two coats of Lube alone and there is no visible nail line to be seen :) It also lays down flat and has none of that pesky texture most glitters have. The formula was smooth and I didn't have to dab or place these as the bottle is so glitter packed.

Lube layered over Kiss Me... Down There and topped with Pretty Bitch top coat.

The bright flash on my ring finger shows you just how holo this is! It's not a sun spot, but rather the sun refracting off the glitter and blinding the camera!

This is one coat of Lube layered over another Pretty Bitch green. This is C*nt from the George Carlin 7 Things You Can't Say on Television Tribute collection.

The second polish from the Sex Toy collection today is Blind Fold which is a purple glitter bomb. This polish is a blend of different shades of purple with some silver. You all know how much I love my purples! This made me swoon. The base for Blind Fold is slightly purple tinged, but it is so dense that this can be expected. Just like Lube, there was no need for dabbing or placement and each stroke was packed with glitter.

The left two fingers are one coat of Blind Fold over Tits from the George Carlin 7 Things You Can't Say on Television Tribute collection. The ring finger is three coats of Blind Fold alone. The pink is one coat of Blind Fold over Fuck It. The pinky looks like a Galaxy!

These two polishes were just released last night in her monthly restock and release. At this point, all of the Sex Toy Collection and the George Carlin Collection are available, but there is no telling how long these will stay in stock so I'd wander over and grab them up. She also has a few of her super holos in stock and those always sell out within a few days of release.
